I have been thinking about this question for a while: Why start THIS blog now?

The answer is simple. Homeschooling has been a part of my life for quite some time. My brothers were homeschooled when they were young, and I spent some time being homeschooled in high school-and frankly I loved it. I loved the freedom to explore my subjects at my own pace, the chance to dive into things that sparked my curiosity, and the close connection that was developed with my family as we learned together. Even before my own children were born, I knew homeschooling was the path that I wanted to take.

Fast forward to today: I have three children of my own in 10th, 8th, and 3rd grade. I have now been homeschooling for 13 years (I started with preschool for my oldest so yes, I count that time too.) Over that time I have learned a lot, made PLENTY of mistakes, discovered what works for our family, and found ways to navigate the messy, joyful, unpredictable reality of real-life homeschooling.

Along the way I have had countless questions: How do I plan for multiple grade levels? How do I keep learning fun? What does a realistic homeschool day look like? What curriculum do you think is the best to use? Aren’t you worried your kids won’t get enough time with their firends and peers? I’ve also learned that there’s no one “right” way to do this, but there are strategies, resources, and encouragement that can make the journey a little bit easier and a lot more fulfilling.

That is why I decided now is the right time to start sharing what I’ve picked up over the years. I want this space to be a place where homeschool parents-whether brand-new or seasoned- can find practical ideas, encouragement, and a reminder that they are not alone.

So, welcome! Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk about the real-life adventure of homeschooling. I’m excited to sahre what I’ve learned, but even more, I’m excited to learn alongside you too!

Happy Homeschooling!!
